Phillip Vaught launched New River Valley Magazine in the fall of 2006 after local success with another publication. “The region needed a glossy, full-color publication to showcase the people, places, arts, food, culture and activities. This is a vibrant area of Southwest Virginia that seamlessly blends the traditions of rural and small-town life with an international presence, world-class education and myriad entrepreneurial opportunities.”
Joanne Anderson, managing editor, has been with New River Valley Magazine since early 2007. “It is an exciting place to be ~ both living in the New River Valley and being an integral part of a great publication. Our goal is to be informative and entertaining while highlighting amazing people, interesting businesses, healthcare, arts and culture and lifestyles in our naturally beautiful corner of Southwest Virginia. There is an incredible wealth of talent, recreation, youthful energy, retirement folks and engaging entertainment.”
Vickey Lloyd is on staff as Account Executive and brings extensive business, marketing, sales and creative experience and education. She is from far Southwest Virginia and often visited her family’s farm in the New River Valley. After a circuitous career out of state, she has circled back to the NRV, owning the family farm and residing in a lovely log house.
